Trend Micro Internet Security Pro is the latest incarnation of Trend Micro's internet security software formerly called PC-Cillin. With the name change came the addition of more protection.
New Features
The new Internet security suite protection includes: Wi-Fi hot-spot verification, identity-theft prevention, and performance tuning for your PC. Although you can purchase a stripped down version of Trend Micro Internet Security without these add-ons, your best bet is to just get them now in case you ever need them.
Multiple PC Coverage
With the price of of the Internet Security subscription you can protect three separate computers with Trend Micro Internet Security Pro. This is great if you have more than one computer in your house. Some competing Internet security suite products expect you to buy an individual copy for each computer, even within the same household or office – not the case here. A major thumbs up for that!
User Interface
The user interface is pretty straightforward. The main page gives you a summary along with a couple of basic buttons Update Now and Scan Now. These are large and easy to see, which simplifies your options. Other Internet security suite products from rival companies have way too many buttons on their main page so this is refreshing to see.
Installation
Installation of this Internet security software is straightforward. Depending on the condition of your system, you may experience system slow downs and other issues while installing Trend Micro Internet Security Pro. On older computers, it may be somewhat time-consuming to get through the installation process with this Internet security software. One reboot is required. In addition, if you have some other antivirus, antispyware or other Internet security software installed, the installation process may ask you to remove them before you go ahead. If this happens, it will be under Trend Micro Internet Security Pro's installation process control so you don't have to do any manual uninstall.

After installing the Internet security suite, from that time forward your system will be protected from current and future threats – all the time. Your PC will be protected from viruses, spyware, Trojans, worms, keystroke monitoring, phishing sites, unsafe hotspots and wireless networks, threats via email, and more.

One new feature added for 2008 is the fact that spyware and virus scans are performed all in one simple step. For anyone who has had to deal with them being done not only in two steps, but by two separate programs, this is a huge bonus!
Speed
Another objection many consumers have raised to anti-spyware, anti-virus and other Internet security software is that many of the programs slow your system down. This, again, is not the case with Trend Micro Internet Security Pro. How ironic that the rival Internet security software actually slows your system down – isn't the idea to eliminate issues and speed UP your system?
This alone makes Trend Micro Internet Security Pro the leader of the pack, at least from a sheer performance standpoint. Expect a light load on your CPU and RAM compared to other comparable Internet security suite software.
Final Verdict
Trend Micro Internet Security Pro is a good, solid product. Granted, it does present a bit of a rocky installation at the outset, but once installed it does what it says, does it well, and doesn't get in the way.
